Prior to founding GrowthFire, Tim served as an accomplished CEO and senior Sales and Marketing executive within the technology industry. He’s achieved a track record of transforming technologies into companies and opportunities into results by building market-driven companies coupled with superior sales and marketing execution.
Tim has extensive experience delivering technology-based business solutions comprised of hardware, software and services across diverse industries including healthcare, insurance, finance, manufacturing, distribution and telecommunications. He has built solid management teams, strategic product management competencies, sales and marketing organizations and professional services groups that have focused on Fortune 500 accounts, mid-market clients and the SME market. Tim also co-founded a Customer Relationship Management company via an international partnership which was eventually sold to another technology company.
Tim earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from The University of Missouri and an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. His Master’s studies are augmented with a mini-MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of St. Thomas. Tim has served in executive roles in various industry and technology associations including National Vice President of a North American Insurance industry group as well as a regional technology group. He is currently serving as an Executive Member of the Board of Directors at the “House of Charity” and serves as a mentor in the Carlson School of Management’s business student mentoring program.

Eapen Chacko, Former CFO, MedicalCV, Inc. and Possis Medical, Inc.
Mr. Chacko has over 30 years of experience in finance, equity capital markets, strategic planning and international economics. As CFO of Possis Medical, he led the business restructuring and transformation that saw a history of losses turn into a $75 million company with 25% pre-tax margins and a public equity market valuation of ten times revenues. As Director at Fingerhut Companies, a $2 billion NYSE direct marketing company, he was responsible for investor relations and for the equity carve-out of Metris Companies, Inc., a financial services subsidiary that eventually grew to $5 billion in receivables, increasing its share price five times from its initial IPO. During a long career on both the buy and sell sides of Wall Street, Mr. Chacko raised almost a billion dollars in debt and equity for client companies, and he was named a “Wall Street Journal All Star Analyst” for his stock picking record. While at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, he provided strategic planning and forecasting services to Fortune 250 clients, such as Occidental Petroleum, PPG Industries, British Telecom, and Federal Express. As a Senior Economist with the United Nations, his group developed the economic framework for the Law of the Sea Treaty and provided technical assistance to mineral projects in Asia and Africa. Mr. Chacko is a former Director of Hawkins, Inc. (NASDAQ:HWKN), a $200 million distributor and formulator of bulk and specialty chemicals, where he was the Audit Committee Chair and a designated audit committee financial expert. Mr. Chacko earned his A.B. in Economics from Columbia College in New York City, and his M.A. in Economics and Operations Research from The Johns Hopkins University.
David J. Larkin, Former CEO – Honeywell Canada, Founder – Larkin Associates
Mr. Larkin has 35 years business experience progressing from Sales to General Manager to CEO. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1961. Mr. Larkin is a veteran of 30 years with Honeywell, Inc. From 1986-1991, Mr. Larkin was Vice President and Group Executive for the Commercial Buildings Group at Honeywell headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. From 1992-1995, Larkin served as Chairman, President and CEO of Honeywell Limited in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Following retirement from Honeywell in 1996, Mr. Larkin started a consulting business in Minneapolis, working with small and medium-sized companies in a broad range of activities from special projects to interim positions to active Board participation. This included a brief full-time assignment as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Jostens, Inc. in 1998-1999. Mr. Larkin is currently a general business consultant and an active private investor. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, served on the Board of Ault, Inc. in Minneapolis prior to their being acquired, and on several private company Boards.
Doug McGregor, CEO – WebEquity Solutions, Managing Director – Rational Equity
Mr. McGregor has over 25 years of technology business experience including executive positions in M&A, venture capital, sales, marketing, R&D and operations. Mr. McGregor currently serves as the CEO of WebEquity Solutions, a company acquired by Rational Equity. Prior to Rational Equity, Mr. McGregor led Global Mergers & Acquisitions within SoftBrands, Inc., a $100M public software company. He built SoftBrands’ M&A practice from conception to over $30M in acquisitions within an 18-month period. Prior to SoftBrands, Mr. McGregor was Global Vice President/General Manager for Epicor Software, a $350M public company. At Epicor Mr. McGregor ran two international divisions and personally led numerous multi-million dollar sales campaigns to companies such as Boeing, TRW, Goodrich Aerospace, General Electric, US Air Force, and US Navy. Under his leadership he successfully groomed both divisions for sale and raised $20M in venture capital from Moore Capital, and High Bar Ventures (founders of Sun Microsystems and Brocade Communications). Prior to Epicor, Mr. McGregor founded, built and sold his own company, Athletic Technologies, Inc., a software company serving the recreation industry. Mr. McGregor gained extensive R&D experience during his 10 years at Unisys Corporation where he led several large highly successful development projects. Mr. McGregor earned his BS in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota and is a frequent guest lecturer in the MBA program at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.
Thomas G. Hudson - Former Chairman and CEO of Computer Network Technologies; Global Capacity; Muve, Inc.
Mr. Hudson is the retired Chief Executive Officer of Muve, Inc., a leading edge activity-based weight management medical technology company. He is also the former Chief Executive Officer of Global Capacity, a start-up company that provides integrated communications logistics solutions worldwide. Prior to joining Global Capacity in June of 2005, Mr. Hudson served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Computer Network Technology, a provider of wide area storage networks, since June 1996; as a director since August 1996 and as Chairman of the Board since May 1999. From 1993 to June 1996, Mr. Hudson served as Senior Vice President of McGraw Hill Companies, a leading information services provider, serving as General Manager of its F.W. Dodge Division, and as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. From 1968 to 1993, Mr. Hudson served as Vice President and General Manager in a number of management positions at IBM Corporation. Mr. Hudson is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and New York University with an MBA in Finance. He attended the Harvard Advanced Management Program in 1990. Mr. Hudson previously served on the Board of Directors of CGSY, CNY, McData Corporation, Lawson Software, Ciprico and Plato Software. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Xata Corporation, Incentra Solutions, a publicly traded company and two private companies, Wyndstorm and MQSoftware.
Richard Butler, Managing Director, Co-head Structured Finance - ING Capital LLC
Mr. Butler serves as the Managing Director of ING Capital, LLC and a Director of ING Financial Holdings Corporation. Since 1996, Mr. Butler has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of ING (U.S.) Capital Securities, a wholly owned subsidiary of ING Group N.V.. He has also served as Managing Director (Insurance Advisory and Finance Group) of ING Capital Corporation. Mr. Butler has served in other officer positions at ING Capital Corporation since May 1993. Mr. Butler was a Vice President and Manager (Insurance Finance and Advisory Group) of Westpac Banking Corporation from February 1992 to May 1993. From 1982 to February 1992, he was a Managing Director of Chase Manhattan Bank. Mr. Butler received his PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota and served two tours in Africa in an economic development capacity with the Peace Corp.
Carrie Ellis, Marketing and Communication Director - Children's HeartLink
Ms. Ellis is an experienced technology product strategist with significant expertise in aligning products and their respective markets. Ms. Ellis served as the Director of Product Marketing at McAfee and as Director of Business Development and Manager of Product Marketing for the Stellent division of Oracle. While at Stellent she evaluated and provided recommendations on over 35 potential merger and acquisition candidates. Ms. Ellis is a graduate of Northwestern University and earned an MBA from Stanford. Prior to her role at Stellent she held positions at Deloitte Consulting and Cisco Systems.
